Kinkade, Manning promoted to SWB
Kinkade hit .349 in 22 games for the Thunder with two home runs and 15 RBI. He had a seven-game hitting streak for Trenton from August 21st-28th. During the streak, he went 14-for-26 with seven RBI and nine runs scored. He also appeared this season in 33 games for Iowa (Triple-A) in the Chicago Cubs organization. Kinkade had a .308 BA with seven home runs and 27 RBI. In 2006, he played in 106 games for Albuqurque (Triple-A) in the Florida Marlins organization. Kinkade hit .328 with four home runs and 50 RBI for the Isotopes.
Kinkade has had major league service time with the New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers. He debuted with the Mets during 1998, and last played in the Major Leagues with the Dodgers during the 2003 season. In 222 career Major League games, Kinkade has 13 home runs and 48 RBI. Kinkade was originally selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 19th round of the 1994 draft.
Manning went 1-0 for the Thunder in seven relief appearances without allowing a run. He also had one save. He started the year for Scranton/Wilkes Barre and had a 3-2 record with a 4.25 ERA, including two saves in 32 appearances. In 48.2 IP, he recorded 54 strikeouts and held opponents to a .211 BA. During 2006, Manning compiled an 8-3 record with a 2.71 ERA in 48 games and one start for the Thunder. He also appeared in one game for Triple-A Columbus. Including 2007, Manning has spent parts of five seasons with Trenton. In four prior seasons with the Thunder, Manning has a 14-9 record in 131 career games.
Manning was a 9th Round selection by the N.Y. Yankees in the 2001 Draft. He was traded by the Yankees to Cincinnati (7/31/03) for 3B Aaron Boone, but traded back to the Yankees (6/17/04) for LHP Gabe White.
Santos had a .241 BA for Trenton in eight games before being placed on the Disabled List with a strained oblique on August 17th. He started the season with Scranton-Wilkes/Barre and notched a .234 BA with three home runs and 19 RBI in 51 games. Last season, Santos hit .269 for Trenton with four home runs and 38 RBI in 101 games. He also appeared in 111 games for the Thunder in 2005, and hit a career-high 10 home runs. Santos was selected by the Yankees in the 21st round of the 2001 draft.
Trenton begins a four-game series tonight in Manchester, NH against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Class AA Affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. This is the final series of the regular season. Tonight's game time is 7:05 p.m. RHP Alan Horne (12-4, 2.91) starts for Trenton against New Hampshire RHP Yusaku Iriki (3-5, 4.04). The Thunder return to Waterfront Park on September 5th to begin the Eastern League Playoffs against either Portland or New Hampshire (Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays).
