Portes, Miracle roll past Jays
Portes ripped a two-run single in the third inning before launching a two-run blast, his 12th, in the seventh. The 21-year-old left fielder, who entered the contest with two hits in his last 13 at-bats, went 3-for-4 with a walk.
Dustin Martin went 3-for-3 with a run-scoring single in the first for the Miracle (38-30), who have won three straight.
Fort Myers starter Errol Simonitsch (5-0) gave up a run on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in seven frames. The 25-year-old lefty is 3-0 with a 1.35 ERA over his last three starts.
Brian Jeroloman stroked an RBI single in the seventh and Carlo Cota, Anthony Hatch and Eric Nielsen drove in runs in the ninth for Dunedin.
