Doubledays Sweep Brooklyn For NYP Title

First outright title for Auburn since 1973
September 6, 2007
Brett Cecil pitched a gem and J.P. Arencibia blasted a monster homerun to give the Doubledays a lead they would never relinquish as Auburn captured its first NYP Championship since 1998 on Friday night!

Cecil gave up just one run in seven innings and Alan Farina shut the door with two scoreless innings for the save. J.P. Arencibia made a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead in the 5th that cleared the scoreboard in left field. Darrin Mastroianni would add a two run home run of his own later in the game and made another amazing defensive play late in the game to preserve the win!
