Braves earn Atlanta awards

Richmond, VA - Four members of the 2007 International League Governors' Cup champion Richmond Braves earned recognition at Atlanta's annual Future Stars Night. OF Brandon Jones, INF Brent Lillibridge, RHP Manny Acosta, and RHP Joey Devine received awards from Atlanta's Player Development department at Turner Field.

Lillibridge was Atlanta's choice as Richmond's Player of the Year. Lillibridge hit .287 with 10 home runs and 28 stolen bases in 87 games with the R-Braves. He also had hits in all nine Governors' Cup Playoff games. Acosta was Richmond Pitcher of the Year. He tied for the club lead in wins with nine, had a club-leading 12 saves, and posted a 2.26 ERA in 40 games. Jones, who hit .300 in 44 games with Richmond, was Double-A Mississippi Player of the Year. He had a combined 19 home runs and 100 RBI in 2007. Devine was Mississippi Pitcher of the Year. He had a combined 20 saves in the regular season between Richmond and Mississippi while earning six different call-ups to Atlanta. Devine added an IL best four saves in the playoffs.

Lillibridge, Devine, and Jones were on the R-Braves post-season roster. They all played with Mississippi in the first half of the season and helped the M-Braves to a spot in the Southern League playoffs. Acosta, Devine, and Jones are currently on Atlanta's active roster
