The Big Dawg 98.5 FM Returns as Mudcats Flagship Radio Station
ZEBULON, N.C. - The Carolina Mudcats are proud to once again announce that The Big Dawg WDWG-FM 98.5 will return for its eighth consecutive season as the flagship radio station of Mudcats baseball this season. The Mudcats will additionally air select weekday day games on Sports WRMT-AM 1490 in 2019.
Based in Rocky Mount N.C., The Big Dawg 98.5 FM will carry the vast majority of Mudcats games in 2019, with exceptions occurring for weekday day games spread throughout the year. The remaining games will air on Sports 1490 AM, which is also based in Rocky Mount, N.C. The Big Dawg 98.5 FM plays today's "hottest country" and features current country news and weather coverage throughout the day. Sports 1490 AM is a local sports station that also features Fox Sports Radio programming. Both stations are owned by First Media Radio.
All broadcasts are also available to listen to for free online at carolinamudcats.com via TuneIn Radio and Minor League Baseball's First Pitch mobile app. Fans can additionally watch Mudcats' home games in live, full high-definition streaming video via MiLB.tv, Minor League Baseball's subscription streaming video service. Carolina's MiLB.tv live feed features the radio audio accompanied by a multiple camera broadcast from Five County Stadium. The 2019 season marks the fifth year overall for Mudcats broadcasts on MiLB.tv, but the first in full HD. Fans can also watch the Mudcats on the road via MiLB.tv in Myrtle Beach, Winston-Salem and Salem.
All Mudcats' broadcasts begin 15 minutes before first pitch with the pregame show featuring a game recap from the previous game, the latest scores, interviews, daily lineups and a preview of each game. Each broadcast additionally concludes with the postgame show featuring highlights, scores and a look ahead to the next game.
Greg Young, Mudcats' director of broadcasting and media relations, will once again handle all play-by-play duties for the Mudcats in 2019. Young was named the Carolina League's Broadcaster of the Year last season and is returning for his fifth straight season with the Mudcats. The 2019 season is also Young's 11th in Minor League Baseball (2007-2011 Modesto Nuts, 2014 Tennessee Smokies, 2015-Present Carolina Mudcats).

The 2019 Mudcats' season officially begins on Thursday, April 4 at Grainger Stadium in Kinston versus the Down East Wood Ducks. Carolina's 2019 home schedule, however, begins with Opening Night 2019 on Thursday, April 11 versus the Wilmington Blue Rocks at Five County Stadium.
