Dice-K solid in rehab start, Mud Hens' Strieby hits grand slam

In the International League, Jo-Jo Reyes struck out eight and allowed three hits in a complete-game shutout, improving to 5-0 as Indianapolis beat Lehigh Valley, 4-0. Matt Hague was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and veteran Jake Fox had three hits and drove in a run for the Indians. Raul Valdes struck out five and allowed two hits over three scoreless innings of relief for the IronPigs

A rehabbing Daisuke Matsuzaka struck out four and surrendered two hits over 4 2/3 innings to help Pawtucket defeat Rochester, 4-0, for its fourth straight win. Alex Wilson got credit for the victory with 2 1/3 scoreless inning of relief and Daniel Nava slugged a two-run homer for the Red Sox. Darin Mastroianni had two hits to raise his average to .371 for the Red Wings.

Ryan Strieby's fifth-inning grand slam paced a six-run frame as Toledo was victorious over Charlotte, 6-1. Audy Ciriaco hit a solo homer and Fu-Te Ni improved to 2-0 with five shutout innings for the Mud Hens. Nestor Molina, the White Sox's No. 2 prospect, was tagged with the loss in his Triple-A debut after allowing six runs over four innings for the Knights.

Julio Teheran, the Braves' top prospect, gave up an unearned run on five hits over a season-high six innings as Gwinnett fell to Buffalo, 4-3. Stefan Gartrell hit a solo homer and Jose Constanzo scored twice for the Braves. Catcher Rob Johnson put the Bisons ahead for good with a two-run single in the eighth inning.

Dana Eveland struck out four and yielded four hits over five shutout innings as Norfolk beat Louisville, 4-2. Jai Miller went deep for the fifth time this season and Miguel Gonzalez struck out three over two perfect innings to notch his first save for the Tides. Denis Phipps hit a two-run homer as the Bats lost their fourth straight.

In the Pacific Coast League, David Lough hit a grand slam in the fourth inning and Cody Clark went 3-for-3 as Oklahoma City took down Oklahoma City, 8-4. Justin Ruggiano led the RedHawks' offensive effort with three hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs. Mike Hessman added a solo homer.

No. 2 Rangers prospect Martin Perez (3-2) allowed just one run on four hits and a walk while striking out four in seven innings to pick up the win for Round Rock in a 7-1 victory over Memphis. Matt Kata homered and drove in four runs for the Express, while Steven Hill doubled in the Redbirds' only run.

Casey Coleman blanked New Orleans over seven innings, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out nine without factoring into the decision in Iowa's 1-0 win over New Orleans. Scott Maine (2-0) surrendered just one walk in two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win for the Cubs and No. 2 Cubs prospect Brett Jackson scored the team's only run in the eighth on a balk. Alex Sanabia worked all eight innings for the Zephyrs, surrendering one run on two hits with seven strikeouts in a hard-luck loss.

No. 2 Blue Jays prospect Anthony Gose homered in a second straight game and drove in three runs to lead Las Vegas in a 7-6 win over Salt Lake. Top Toronto prospect Travis d'Arnaud went 2-for-4 with a double and No. 19 prospect Moises Sierra had three hits, including a homer. The Bees' Matt Long and John Hester each homered and picked up three RBIs.

Luis Cruz doubled and homered, driving in four runs, while Elian Herrera doubled twice as Albuquerque topped Nashville, 8-3. Hainley Statia doubled and recorded three RBIs for the Sounds.

Cole Gillespie homered, tripled, had three RBIs and scored twice and Jake Elmore added another triple and plated three more as Reno beat Tacoma in a 13-10 slugfest. Luis Antonio Jimenez starred for the Rainiers, going 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and six RBIs.
