Pino, Sobo Lead 9-0 Shutout over Mets

MANCHESTER, NH - Mark Sobolewski belted a three-run home run and Yohan Pino hurled six shutout innings, leading the Fisher Cats (14-20) to a 9-0 shutout win over the Binghamton Mets (16-18).  Sobolewski's homer powered a pair of four-run innings as New Hampshire snapped a five-game losing streak with the Saturday win.
 
Pino (W; 3-0) allowed just a pair of singles over his first three innings before the Fisher Cats got him an early lead.  With two outs in the third, John Tolisano doubled home Brian Van Kirk for a 1-0 advantage.
 
An inning later, New Hampshire struck for the first of its four-run frames.  After a lead-off walk and a one-out single, Brad Glenn drove home two with a double to the gap in left-center.  Ryan Goins followed with a run-scoring single before Koby Clemens picked up a two-out RBI to push the lead to 5-0.
 
Sobolewski's team-leading seventh home run took place an inning later as New Hampshire tacked on four more, all charged to starter Darin Gorski (L; 2-2).  The first three men all reached in the inning, including a single by A.J. Jimenez to make it 6-0.  Sobolewski then knocked Gorski out of the game with a three-run shot to right-center for a 9-0 lead.
 
That was more than enough for Pino, who allowed just three hits over six shutout frames.  He finished with seven strikeouts and a walk, improving to 3-0 in five starts.  Sam Dyson followed with a scoreless inning in his Double-A debut.  Clint Everts and Danny Farquhar wrapped up the Fisher Cats third shutout - all against Binghamton - with a scoreless inning each.
 
Sobolewski now leads the team with 20 RBI, one ahead of Goins, and seven home runs, which is tied for the league lead.  Goins went 1-4, as did Glenn, who has now driven in a run in four straight games.  Tolisano and Brian Van Kirk each had two of the Fisher Cats' 11 hits.
