May 21, 2012
DUNEDIN, FL - The Dunedin Blue Jays returned home on Monday and wasted no time getting comfortable.

The Blue Jays scored a run in the first on a Gabe Jacobo leadoff home run and never looked back as they went on to rout the Jupiter Hammerheads by a final score of 11-2.

Jupiter's Rob Rasmussen allowed four runs in the 2nd on five Dunedin hits, and three more runs in the 5th as the Blue Jays jumped out to an 8-0 lead after five. Rasmussen's shortest outing of the year saw him give up seven earned runs in just 4.1 innings as he fell to 2-5.

Asher Wojciechowski, meanwhile, was dominant as he earned his second victory of the season behind six shutout innings. The right-hander scatted five hits over six innings, struck out four and walked just one in the win which was his first since April 24.

Marcus Knecht hit his seventh home run of the season and he finished the game 2-3 with 4 RBIs and two runs scored. Jacobo's first inning home run was his first of the season. Ryan Schimpf finished 3-5 with 2 RBI, and Jake Marisnick went 2-3 with a pair of walks for the Blue Jays who improved to 29-15.

Game two of the four game set will get underway at 11am on Tuesday as Egan Smith (5-2, 2.68 ERA) squares off against Chad James (1-2, 5.14) in front of 2,000 plus students on Education Day. Catch the game live online at dunedinbluejays.com.
