Parker Advances In MiLB.com's Mascot Mania

Grizzlies mascot to square off against Thunder of Lake Elsinore

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Grizzlies' mascot Parker has advanced to the second round of MiLB.com's Mascot Mania tournament, beating Bernie of the Inland Empire 66ers in the first round. Parker will now face Thunder of the Lake Elsinore Storm, Class A Advanced affiliate of the San Diego Padres. Voting for the second round starts today and will run through Monday, June 4th.

The Mascot Mania bracket-style tournament allows fans to vote for their favorite mascot to determine the "Best Mascot in Minor League Baseball." The field of 64 is now down to 32 after the first round of voting. All 30 Major League affiliates were represented in the four geographic regions (East, Midwest, South and West).

The West region for the second round is as follows:

Parker, Fresno vs. Thunder, Lake Elsinore
Orbit, Albuquerque vs. Cosmo, Las Vegas
Spike, Round Rock vs. Sluggo, Eugene
Rhubarb the Reindeer, Tacoma vs. Dinger, Sacramento

Fans can make their choices in each matchup after reviewing photos and bios of all mascots. Once all selections are made, fans can enter the MiLB.com Mascot Mania Sweepstakes for a chance to win a variety of prizes, including subscriptions to MLB.TV and MiLB.TV, in addition to mascot-themed prize packs.
