Jason Bay Expected to Make Rehab Appearance

New York Mets left fielder Jason Bay is expected to make his first rehab appearance with the St. Lucie Mets on Saturday night as the Mets host the Tampa Yankees in a doubleheader.

Game one is 4:30PM and the gates open at 4:00 PM.The Mets and Yankees will play two seven-inning games.

Bay is also likely to play for the Mets during the final two games of the series against the Yankees on Sunday and Monday.

Bay has been sidelined since April 24th with a fractured left rib. He is hitting .240 with three home runs and five RBIs in 15 games this season. In 2011, Bay had a .245 average with 12 home runs and 57 RBIs.

Bay has played in the major leagues since 2003 for the San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Red Sox, and Mets.
