Brad Lidge Rehabs Tonight for Potomac

Nationals face Keys Tonight in Frederick at 7:00 PM

(FREDERICK, MD) - The Washington Nationals have announced that RHP Brad Lidge will start tonight's game for the Potomac Nationals in Frederick that starts at 7:00 PM. The 2008 World Series Champion and two-time All-Star is making his first ever rehab appearance for Potomac.

Brad Lidge has been on the Washington 15-day DL with a sports hernia since late April. It is not known how long his rehab will be with Potomac. He started the year as the closer for Washington saving two games in seven appearances.

Lidge, 35, is best known for his 2008 season as a member of the World Champion Philadelphia Phillies when he was named NL Comeback Player of the Year and won the Rolaids Relief Award as well. During the regular season, he had 41 saves and a 2-0 record with a 1.95 ERA over 72 games. In the 2008 postseason with the Phillies, Lidge yielded just one earned run in nine and third innings including zero in the NLCS and World Series. Lidge has a career 2.18 ERA in the playoffs with 18 saves over 39 contests. In a career that spans 11 seasons, Lidge has 225 saves, which is the 8th most among active players, pitching for Houston, Philadelphia and Washington.
