June 5, 2012
The Blue Wahoos will open Pensacola Bayfront Stadium to the public for free family activities on Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. in conjunction with the dedication of the Vince J. Whibbs, Sr. Community Maritime Park. All areas of the ballpark, including concession stands and Mulroy's Pub, the Wahoos' indoor air conditioned bar, will be open to the public during the event. Free activities held inside Pensacola Bayfront Stadium include:

The Heater Eating Competition, 11 a.m.

The competition features the Wahoos' signature hamburger, The Heater - a grilled 100% all beef patty with cheddar cheese, peppered bacon, onion rings, lettuce, tomato, pickle and Wahoo sauce.

Fans who wish to enter the contest and claim the "number one Heater eater" title may apply at bluewahoos.com or at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium. Entry into the contest is $20. The contest proceeds will be split evenly between the winner and the charity of the winner's choosing. The competition will be judged by the Northwest Florida Burger Tour guys as a kick-off to their 2012 tour.

On-field Family Catch, 4 - 8 p.m. Just like the pros, all ages are invited to take the field for a family catch in the Blue Wahoos outfield. Fans are asked to bring their own balls and gloves.

The Belmont Stakes on the Big Screen, 4 p.m. See if I'll Have Another will be racing's 12th Triple Crown winner as the Belmont Stakes airs live on the video board courtesy of NBC Sports.
