River Cats to host 'Winter Wonderland'

More than 400 children in need scheduled to participate in festivities

What: The Sacramento River Cats will host 400-plus children in need (ages 1-16) on Wednesday, Dec. 12 for the Fourth Annual "Winter Wonderland" event. The event will be held at Raley Field from 3-6 p.m.

Volunteers, River Cats and Raley Field partners and suite holders will provide the children with a baseball themed holiday festival, with food and beverages provided by Centerplate Concessions and Sacramento Coca-Cola. All kids at the event will receive a holiday gift collected during the Winter Wonderland Caravan earlier this month hosted by Macy's, The Golden 1 Credit Union, AutoWest Honda, Emigh's Hardware, Country Club Plaza and the Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink.

Children will have the opportunity to participate in the following activities:

-- Have their picture taken with Dinger (River Cats mascot) and Santa Claus
-- Create holiday cards and ornaments at several family-oriented arts & crafts stations
-- Wiffle Ball "Home Run Derby" with River Cats Pitcher Shane Komine
-- And more

Who: All media are encouraged to attend.
