David Hale, Mississippi's Eighth 2012 All-Star Selected

PEARL, MS - The Southern League has added Mississippi Brave, RHP David Hale, to the 2012 South Division All-Star Team. Hale makes the eighth M-Brave to be selected to this year's Southern League All-Star Team. The other M-Braves selected were Sean Gilmartin, Gary Moran, Zeke Spruill, Ryan Buchter, Christian Bethancourt, Andrelton Simmons, and Todd Cunningham.

Hale will be replacing Pensacola's LHP Donnie Joseph, who just received a promotion to the Louisville Bats, the Cincinnati Reds Triple-A Affiliate.

Hale began the season in Double-A and made his first career Double-A start on April 8th. Currently, Hale is 4-3 with a 4.36 ERA in 12 starts. Tonight, Hale will make his 13th start of the year in Kodak, TN against the Tennessee Smokies.

Drafted out of Princeton in the third round of 2009, Hale majored in operations research and financial engineering. Once signing, he began his stint with the Braves Organization in 2009 with the Danville Club posting a 2-1 record and a 1.13 ERA in seven appearances. In 2010, he was promoted to Rome, and made 28 appearances with seven starts striking out 69 batters over 93.2 innings. In 2011, he received a promotion to High-A Lynchburg fanning 86 batters in 13 starts and finishing the year with a 4.10 ERA.
