Old Blue Jays Logo Finds a New Home

"Beaked J" Lives On in the Dominican Republic
June 22, 2012
DUNEDIN, FL - Whenever an organization goes through a rebranding process there is always the question of what to do with the old collateral. When the Toronto and Dunedin Blue Jays unveiled a new logo in November of 2011 there was a instantly a whole lot of merchandise that was no longer of any retail value in the United States and Canada.

Seeing an opportunity to help those in need, the Dunedin Blue Jays chose to send all of their old logo gear to the Dominican Republic. With the help of the Canadian Embassy, nearly 2,000 pounds of clothes, hats, pens, toys, and more was distributed throughout the country.

Children at orphanages across the baseball-loving nation received brand new, never before worn shirts, hats and more. The donations will allow children and adults alike to wear top of the line, high quality clothing for years to come.

Support for the Blue Jays in the Dominican Republic is nothing new, however, as many great Dominican born players have filled rosters past and present. Notable Blue Jays from the Dominican Republic include Alfredo Griffin, George Bell, Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion, among others.

While old logo merchandise is no longer for sale through the Dunedin Blue Jays, you can purchase everything "new logo" at our new online shop! ========================================
