January 30, 2008
Manchester, N.H. -- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Ted Williams Museum and Hitters Hall of Fame today announced that Merchantsauto.com Stadium has been named the exclusive Northern New England home of the Ted Williams Hitters Hall of Fame. Access to the Hall of Fame, located behind home plate on the main concourse, will be free of charge to fans attending Fisher Cats' games.

"It is an honor for us to announce this partnership with the Ted Williams Museum to celebrate the greatest hitters in baseball history," said Fisher Cats President/General Manager Rick Brenner. "We look forward to enhancing our fans' ballpark experience by providing them with a place to see rare sports memorabilia, autographed items and other collectables free of charge at Merchantsauto.com Stadium."

The Ted Williams Hitters Hall of Fame will consist of sports memorabilia from the best hitters to ever play the game -- past and present. There will be a special display to commemorate the 500 Home Run Club.

The original Ted Williams Museum and Hitters Hall of Fame is located at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL.

"John Papelbon, myself and the entire staff of the Ted Williams Museum are excited to be able to bring a large part of this collection home to New Hampshire, where the idea of the Ted Williams Museum was first founded by Sam Tamposi and Jerry Nash," said Dave McCarthy, Executive Director of the Ted Williams Museum.
