Sens Win Fourth Straight with 7-6 Win over Bowie

In front of a large 4th of July crowd in the Bowie, the Senators took a big early lead, then rallied for a 7-6 win over Bowie. The win was the Senators fourth in a row and they move to 44-40 on the season. After seeing their 4-0 lead turn into a 5-4 deficit, the Senators rallied to take a 7-5 lead into the bottom of the ninth and held on for the win.

Harrisburg plated four runs in the second, all with two outs, on a run-scoring single by Sandy Leon, a two-run double by Sean Nicol, and a single by Eury Perez. The 4-0 lead lasted only until the bottom of the third, when Jonathan Schoop hit a two-out three-run home run to bring Bowie to within 4-3.

The Baysox took the lead in the fourth on consecutive two-out singles by Jai Miller and Brian Ward.

Danny Rosenbaum started for the Senators and went six innings, allowing the five runs on five hits. Zach Clark started and lasted five innings for Bowie and left with a chance to earn the win. However, that chance lasted for one batter.

With Pedro Viola in from the bullpen for Bowie, Chris Rahl greeted him with a solo home run to tie the game leading off the sixth inning. The home run was his tenth on the season.

The game remained tied into the ninth inning. Sandy Leon led the ninth off with a single and moved to second on a wild pitch. After Justin Bloxom moved him to third base with a ground out, Sean Nicol singled to center driving in Leon with the go ahead run. With two outs and Eury Perez at first after reaching on a fielder's choice, Jeff Kobernus doubled into the right field corner driving in Perez with the second run of the inning giving the Sens a 7-5 lead. Kobernus was thrown out on the play trying to stretch his double into a triple.

Hector Nelo came on to pitch the ninth for the Senators and retired the first two batters before things turned dicey. With two outs Jonathan Schoop doubled, then scored on a single by Josh Barfield trimming the Sens lead to 7-6. But Hector Nelo induced Robbie Widlansky to ground out to second base to end the game. Justin Bloxom and Nicol both had two hits in the game while Nicol also had three runs driven in.
