Asheville Tourists Kid's Club

February 7, 2008

ASHEVILLE - There's something new for 2008 at McCormick Field and it's just for kids.

The Asheville Tourists will bring in the league's best new kid's club, offering a variety of special treats to baseball's next generation of fans.

For the low cost of $20, each club member will get a T-shirt, goodie bag, exclusive monthly e-kidsletter, birthday card from Ted E. himself and 10 percent off in the team's merchandise store.

And best of all, with that same payment, kids will get a ticket to each of eight different Sunday games, where only they will be treated to special activities.

Those activities will include face painters, an ice cream social, a home run derby, a pizza party with Ted E. The list goes on and on.

"The Tourists are just ecstatic to add something that is just for our children," executive director Mike Bauer said. "We want kids to have a great time at the ballpark and come away feeling like the team respects them every bit as much as any of our adult fans. The kids are our future."

Fans can immediately start joining the Kid's Club. Membership is good for one year from the date of purchase.
