Redbirds Broadcast Team announced
Memphis, Tenn. - The Memphis Redbirds will have a new voice calling the action this season when Dave Woloshin enters the broadcast booth.
Woloshin joins Steve Selby, Charlie Lea and Reggie Williams on the Redbirds Broadcast Team for 2008. Selby and Lea will handle the majority of the duties on the radio and move to the TV booth for the 'Birds television broadcasts. During the television broadcasts Woloshin will team with Williams on the radio.
"I am honored to be a part of a great broadcast and great organization," Woloshin said. "I love baseball and this is a chance to get my feet back into the game."
Woloshin is the co-host of Sportstime and Sportstime Extra on WHBQ-560 AM, the Redbirds flagship station.
"Wolo is a special broadcast talent and will become a great asset to the Redbirds," Redbirds President/GM Dave Chase said. "Dave is dedicated to our community and that feeling works very well with the Redbirds mission of baseball and community. We are truly excited about having Dave join Steve, Charlie and Reggie."
Memphis will begin the season on the road at Oklahoma on April 3 before returning home on April 11 to face Omaha. AutoZone Park will host the second annual National Civil Rights Game on March 29 with the New York Mets and Chicago White Sox squaring off.
