Spokane's Offensive Woes Continue in 4-1 Loss to Emeralds
The Indians had numerous chances against the Emeralds, but the team left 13 runners on base as they went a heart-breaking 0-14 with runners in scoring position. Spokane scored their lone run in the eighth inning after Royce Bolinger led off the frame with a double and scored on a missed catch by Eugene's Goose Kallunki.
Eric Brooks (0-1) was the hard luck loser after allowing two unearned runs in three innings while striking out four. Richard Alvarez followed with two punch outs in the next three frames and Jon Edwards and Carlos Melo both struck out three to give the Indians 12 total strikeouts for the game.
Spokane's 12 strikeouts meant that 12 lucky Indians fans walked home with $100 each courtesy of Banner Bank.
