Smokies announce 2013 game schedule

Tennessee to open on the road in Pensacola April 4; home opener is April 10 vs. Chattanooga

KODAK, Tenn. - The Southern League of Professional Baseball Teams and the Tennessee Smokies, Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, announced today the release of the team's 2013 regular season schedule. The Smokies will begin the season on the road Thursday, April 4, against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and open at Smokies Park on Wednesday, April 10, against the Chattanooga Lookouts.

Tennessee will play the home finale against the Mobile BayBears on Tuesday, August 27. The team will conclude the 2013 season on the road against the Chattanooga Lookouts on September 2.

The Smokies 2013 schedule features two 10-game homestands (in April and August) and one 10-game road trip in May.

The Smokies are scheduled to host three holiday games: May 27 vs. the Huntsville Stars on Memorial Day, June 16 vs. the Mississippi Braves on Father's Day and July 4 vs. the Huntsville Stars for the Fourth of July Celebration. Tennessee is scheduled to be in Jackson for Mother's Day (May 12) and Chattanooga for Labor Day (September 2).
