Levi's Day to Bring the Denim

July 14, 2012

On July 22nd the Emeralds will host the second annual Levi's Day featuring the award- winning promotion, Cut-Offs for a Cause. First pitch will be at 1:05pm against the Boise Hawks at PK Park.

On a summer afternoon it will be easy to cool off. Any fan who wears jeans to the game are encouraged to get them cut into jean shorts on site. Free admission will be given to fans who either wear or donate a pair of jeans. Fans who choose to cut-off their jeans will be entered in a drawing for a $500 Levi's shopping spree.

Lightly used jeans will be donated to the Springfield's School District "Brattain House," and denim scraps will be recycled and turned into insulation for a Springfield/Eugene Habitat for Humanity building project.

"We are excited to grow this tradition between the Emeralds and Levi's that benefits both the fans and the local community," said Emeralds General Manager Allan Benavides.

The first 1,000 fans to the stadium will be given an Emeralds vintage lunchbox and in honor of Levi's best selling line of jeans, vouchers for free hot dogs will be given to the first 501 fans wearing Levi's through the gates.

As with every Sunday home game, it will be Throwback Sunday presented by PeaceHealth Medical Group featuring $1 hot dogs and 1988 Bull Durham powder blue throwback jerseys.

Cut-Offs for a Cause, in its first year in 2011, was awarded the Best Charity Promotion in Minor League Baseball. This is a partnership that is still in its infancy and will only continue to grow to provide fans with affordable ways to watch all the excitement of the home town Emeralds and help out the greater Lane County community.
