Pelicans name outfield bleachers

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- The Myrtle Beach Pelicans and Better Brands, Inc. are pleased to announce a naming rights partnership which will transform the Outfield Reserved Bleachers seating section of BB&T Coastal Field into the "Land Shark Landing."

"Land Shark Landing" will incorporate the look and feel of Land Shark Lager, featuring the tropical-themed image of the popular Margaritaville Brewing Company brand. Land Shark Lager was conceptualized due to the tremendous popularity and success of the hit Jimmy Buffet song "Fins." "Land Shark Landing" will continue to serve as the only outfield seating section in the Carolina League.

"We are extremely excited to continue what has been a tremendous partnership with Better Brands, Inc and thrilled at the possibilities created by incorporating the "Land Shark Landing" seating section" said Pelicans' General Manager North Johnson. "The image of Land Shark Lager is a perfect fit for this region, BB&T Coastal Field and the Pelicans."

"The creation of this one-of-a-kind area of the ballpark further enhances what we feel is the finest facility in the Carolina League, and continues our effort of incorporating the themes of the Grand Strand into our everyday operations," Johnson added.

In addition to the creation of "Land Shark Landing," the partnership between the Pelicans and Better Brands, Inc. will include co-sponsorship of the Pelicans' popular Thirsty Thursday nights which will continue during the 2008 season.

"Since they put the first shovel in the ground to construct BB&T Coastal Field we have been a proud partner of Pelicans baseball" said Better Brands representative John Leggett. "To continue that affiliation and incorporate the Land Shark brand into the already tremendous atmosphere at the ballpark is something we couldn't be more excited for."

Single-Game seats for the 2008 season, including the 2008 home opener and 2008 California-Carolina League All-Star Game will be on sale Saturday, March 1 as the Pelicans host TicketPalooza beginning at 9 am at BB&T Coastal Field. The event will run from 9 am - 1 pm.
