Summertime fun! Hens home TONIGHT!

Bring your mom, dad, kids, grandparents, friends, neighbors, and anyone else who loves great food and fun times to Fifth Third Field! Hens are home for eight games in nine days, from Saturday, July 28 through Sunday, August 5!

Saturday, July 28 vs. Louisville @ 7 p.m. - Gates open at 5:30 p.m. - The Mud Hens open a four-game series with the Louisville Bats, Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.

  • Freshen up after the game with limited samples of Pert and Brut products after the game, courtesy of Pert Plus.
  • A special appearance by Richard and Kathy Verlander, Justin Verlander's parents, will be happening tonight! Richard and Kathy are doing a book signing for "Rocks Across the Pond", a book showing the perspective on the journey of a baseball parent.
  • The girl scouts are camping out at Fifth Third Field for the final Girl Scout Sleepover of the season!
  • Summer is winding down so make sure you catch the fireworks that illuminate the Toledo skyline.

Sunday, July 29 vs. Louisville @ 6 p.m. - Gates open at 4:30 p.m. - The Hens take on the Bats for the second game of the homestand.

  • It's Autograph Sunday! Two players are signing autographs a half hour an hour before the first pitch. Go to section 119 on the main concourse.
  • Join us for the Home Plate Event before the game begins. Toledo Mud Hens players, coaches, and special guest speaker Frank Tanana, share their faith at this unique pre-game event. Tanana is a 20 year MLB veteran and former Detroit Tigers pitcher. Nearly 1,000 Mud Hens fans joined us in 2011 for the Home Plate extravaganza! There are limited tickets available.   • Former Tiger star, Denny McLain is hosting a book signing at Fifth Third Field on the main concourse.
  • Two great forces, The Toledo Mud Hens and the Toledo Fire Department, are partnering up to promote fire safety and awareness! The Toledo Fire Department has a special showcase and interactive experience for fans of all ages. Make sure you're in your seat to catch the monumental pregame ceremony. For the first time EVER, a Toledo firefighter delivers the game ball to the mound after repelling out of a ladder truck in the outfield. The showcase vehicles are on St. Clair Street from 4:30-7 p.m. These include:

  • Scooby Dooby Doo, where are you? At Fifth Third Field, of course. You can find him solving mysteries on the main concourse during the game, courtesy of Buckeye CableSystem.
  • Kids Run the Bases! Every Sunday at Fifth Third Field kids get the chance to feel what it is like in the big leagues.
  • Make sure you stay after the game for the fireworks, presented by Wildwood Environmental Academy.

Monday, July 30 vs. Louisville @ 7 p.m. - Gates open at 6 p.m. - The Hens and Bats continue their series at Fifth Third Field.

Tuesday, July 31 vs. Louisville @ 12 p.m. - Gates open at 10:30 a.m. - The Mud Hens and Bats wrap up their series in Toledo.

  • D.A.R.E to be different? The Toledo Mud Hens host the Drug Education Program before the game for local youth.
  • It's Senior Fan Fun Day! The Mud Hens are offering a fun package for senior groups to attend the afternoon game, courtesy of The Blade. Tickets are just $7 for Mud Hens fans 65 and older, with the option to purchase a $5 meal ticket (hot dog, chips and a soda). Thursday, August 2 vs. Rochester @ 7 p.m. - Gates open at 6 p.m. - The Mud Hens begin a four-game series with the Rochester Red Wings, Triple-A Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.

  • Give your kids the chance to interact with Mud Hens Players and get involved with the great game of baseball! The Hens are hosting a three day-day baseball camp for kid's ages 7-14 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The camp is extremely in depth and will cover all aspects of the game of baseball. The first two days of the camp feature stations around the field where players teach the campers the fundamentals of the game. The final day of the camp will feature several competitions and player autographs. All campers who participate in the three-day camp receive a Mud Hens Baseball Camp tee, a souvenir baseball for autographs, lunch on all three days and a free ticket to a Mud Hens game. Registration can be done online.
  • Beer + Fun = Pub 315 Beer-tasting Event The new pub is located just beyond the right field foul pole! The Toledo Mud Hens have partnered with Budweiser and Maumee Bay Brewing to provide great, local craft beers for you to sample! Tickets include an all you can eat buffet, an opportunity to discuss the beers with a Maumee Bay Brewmaster, 20 two-ounce samples, and a free gift for participating.

Friday, August 3 vs. Rochester @ 7 p.m. - Gates open at 5:30 p.m. - The Hens battle the Red Wings in the second game of the series at Fifth Third Field.

  • Day two of the Three-Day Baseball Camp resumes.
  • It's the History of Toledo Baseball this weekend at the Mud Hens. Every night there's something special going on. Casey Stengel bobble head giveaway presented by Ohio Lottery! and The Blade. Stengel, the former Toledo Mud Hens Manager and Major League Manager, guided the 1927 Mud Hens to a "little" World Series Championship. This year marks the 85th anniversary of Casey Stengel guiding the Hens to greatness. Stengel won ten pennants and five World Series Titles with the New York Yankees. The bobble heads will be passed out to the first 2,000 fans through the gates.
  • The night concludes with a stellar display of fireworks, presented by Corner Dental.

Saturday, August 4 vs. Rochester @ 7 p.m. - Gates open at 5:30 p.m. - Game three of the series between the Hens and the Red Wings.

  • Today is the final day of the Three-Day Baseball Camp!
  • Toledo Baseball History Celebration continues. The Hens don their throwback uniforms from the 1883, the first professional team in Toledo's baseball history. The team was commonly referred to as the Blue Stockings. Toledo won the 1883 Northwestern League Championship and joined the Major League American Association team with African American players on the roster. The most notable being Moses Fleetwood Walker.
  • Get yours bids ready! The throwback jerseys worn during the game are being auctioned off during the game on the main concourse, proceeds go to Ronald McDonald House.
  • Make sure you catch tonight's post-game fireworks!

Sunday, August 5 vs. Rochester @ 6 p.m. - Gates open at 4:30 p.m. - The Hens and Red Wings duke it out in the final game of the series.

  • Sunday wraps up the up the history celebration. The Famous Chicken makes its first ever appearance at Fifth Third Field. For over 35 years, the San Diego Chicken has delighted crowds all over the world with his antics. Tonight's appearance is brought to you by Root's Poultry.
  • It's Autograph Sunday! Two Mud Hens players are signing autographs for an hour before the first pitch. Meet the players in section 119 on the main concourse. The session lasts a half hour.
  • The Chicklets have their dance moves on tonight! Catch them action before the game and in the stands during the game.
  • Don't forget! Kids run the bases this Sunday and every other Sunday for the rest of the season.
  • What better way to conclude a memorable day than with a fantastic fireworks show? Make sure you stick around after the game. The fireworks are presented by Wildwood Environmental Academy.
