Scout Night Set For August 3rd

Scouts from throughout the Central Valley will be in attendance
July 30, 2012
FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Grizzlies will host Scout Night on Friday, August 3rd, inviting all members of Boy Scouts of America from the Central San Joaquin Valley to attend the Grizzlies home game at Chukchansi Park. For those Scouts in attendance on August 3rd, there will be 600 special Grizzlies patches given to the Scouts, with the first 100 receiving a special limited edition patch.

Many other Scouts festivities will be held throughout the night. Prior to the game, scouts from local chapters will take part in an on-field parade. A scout and scoutmaster will throw out the game's first pitch, while in-game entertainment will feature scouts taking part in competitions and skits. After the game, scouts will camp out at Chukchansi Park, sleeping under the stars on the ballpark's outfield grass.

Boy Scouts of America, incorporated in 1910 and chartered by Congress in 1916, is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. There were over 2.7 million scout members nationwide in 2011, with over 10,000 Scouts located in the Central San Joaquin Valley.
