Goof Off Day Celebrated at L.P. Frans Stadium
Saturday, March 22 has long been designated National Goof Off Day. While the origins are not known, it perhaps was created by someone who apparently had enough of work and responsibility and needed a day to, well, "goof-off".
The Hickory Crawdads invite the community to celebrate National Goof Off Day with us on Saturday, March 22 at L. P. Frans Stadium. Don't celebrate this great holiday by mowing the grass on the 3rd day of spring! (You will mow it again next week, anyway!) Why not goof off with events such as an Easter Egg Hunt in the outfield or a game of Whiffle Ball at the stadium?
National Goof Off Day at L.P. Frans Stadium will begin at 10 am, where fans can purchase individual tickets or package plans for their very own personal goof off days later in the year.
Need a place to allow your kids to goof off? The speed pitch, carousel and numerous inflatables will be available for those high-energy goofing off needs.
Like to goof off by singing? The National Anthem tryouts will be held from 11 am to 1 pm. Show off your vocal skills, or wow the crowd by playing your acoustic instrument. Kazoos will be considered, as well.
Not enough goofing off, you say? How about a massive Easter Egg Hunt on the stadium field. Kids will delight in finding enough candy to fuel continued goofing off for weeks at a time. The "Run for the Plastic Eggs" begins at 1 pm.
How about the adults? Show what a goof-off you are by engaging in the inaugural Goof Off Whiffle Ball Spring Classic, weather permitting. The G.O.W.B.S.C. will follow the Easter Egg Hunt. (No performance enhancing drugs, please.)
