Griggs Promoted to Low-A Great Lakes
Griggs, the Raptors closer, led the team with five saves in five opportunities, which was good for third in the Pioneer League.
In 11 innings, the right-hander allowed just five hits and seven runs, five earned, striking out 18 and walking eight, giving him an ERA of 4.09.
The former UCLA Bruin last pitched Tuesday against Idaho Falls. The eight-round pick pitched a hitless ninth against the Chukars.
Griggs is replaced on the roster by right-handed pitcher Luis Meza. The Venezuela native was 0-2 with an ERA of 9.00 in three starts with the Arizona League Dodgers. The 6-foot, 4-inch Meza was signed as a free agent in 2009.
