Bluefield's ninth rainout of the season forces Monday doubleheader
A day after D.J. Jones capped a thrilling comeback for an 8-7 win, the Bluefield Blue Jays were rained out against the Bristol White Sox at Bowen Field on Sunday. The two teams will finish their series with a doubleheader of two seven-inning games on Monday at 5:00 p.m. The Jays will go for a sweep and manager Dennis Holmberg's 1,299th and 1,300th career victories.
Right-handers Kevin Comer (3-1, 3.74) and Justin James (2-0, 6.14) will pitch for Bluefield against Bristol lefty Todd Kibby (2-4, 3.68) and righty David Haselden (0-1, 9.00). The twinbill at Bowen Field is set for 5:00 p.m.
