Mario Lisson drives home two in the first inning

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR- The Northwest Arkansas Naturals used a three-run first inning to defeat the Arkansas Travelers 5-1 on Sunday night at Dickey Stephens Park.

The Naturals jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Mario Lisson delivered a two-run single and Carlo Testa followed with an RBI-single to cap the three-run inning.

The Travelers answered back against Naturals' starter Sugar Ray Marimon in the bottom of the first inning. Casey Haerther ripped an RBI single, scoring Renny Osuna and making it a 3-1 contest.

Marimon settled in after allowing a run in the first inning and turned in another great start on the mound. The right-hander went six innings surrendering four hits and one run, while walking three and striking out two.

The Naturals tacked on an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning on an RBI-double by Yem Prades. Orangel Arenas also settled in after the first inning as well. He went six and two-thirds innings allowing nine hits and four runs, while walking two and striking out four.

The Naturals picked up another insurance run in the top of the ninth inning on a passed ball by the Travelers' catcher Alberto Rosario. Sam Runion worked the final three innings for the Naturals allowing just one hit to earn his first save of the season.

The Naturals will wrap up their four-game series against the Travelers on Monday night at 7:05 PM. The Naturals will send left-hander Noel Arguelles (2-12, 7.74) against the Travelers right-hander Jarrett Grube (0-1, 7.94). The game can be heard on ESPN 92.1 The Ticket.
