Professional Soccer Returns to Raley Field, Presented by Miller Lite and Latin Entertainment

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif., - On Saturday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. PT, Mexico's First Division League soccer visits Raley Field, when Club Atletico Monarcas Morelia take on San Luis FC. Tickets will go on sale Thursday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m. on ticketmaster.com and at Raley Field's Round Table Pizza Ticket Office.

The two clubs will compete in an exhibition match at Raley Field, sanctioned by the U.S. Soccer Federation. Gates will open at 4 p.m. with the match set to begin at 8 p.m. This will be the first time that professional soccer has been played at Raley Field since June 12, 2010, when the San Jose Earthquakes took on Chivas USA.

San Luis FC features world-renowned goalkeeper Oscar "El Conejo" Perez, Mexico National Team member Cesar Villaluz and 2006 FIFA World Cup star Jose Antonio "El Gringo" Castro. The club is coached by one of the most beloved leaders in Mexican soccer, Jose Luis Trejo.

Monarcas Morelia has enjoyed recent success, finishing third in the 2010 America's Liberty Cup, which pits the top two teams from every country in North and South America. The club also won the 2010 Super League Championship in a competition that brings the top-four MLS teams and the top-four Mexican Division I teams together to compete. Top scorer Miguel Sabah, Mexico National Team member Joel Huiqui and Argentinian goalkeeper and team captain Federico Vilar lead the club.

Tickets will be available Thursday, Aug. 9 at 10 a.m., online or by phone through Ticketmaster, at Raley Field's Round Table Pizza Ticket Office, as well as select retail locations. The game will be televised in Mexico on TV Azteca and in the United States on Azteca America.
