Aaron Meade to Inland Empire

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce that LHP Aaron Meade has been promoted to Inland Empire and that RHP Brandon Lodge has been activated from the 7-day disabled list. Mike LaCassa, Minor League Operations Manager for the LA Angels, announced the move on Saturday.

Aaron Meade joined the Kernels on May 4 and was a 10th round selection of the Angels in the 2010 Free Agent Draft. In 27 games (six starts) for the Kernels, he had a 2-3 record and 3.16 ERA, allowing 68 hits and 41 runs (34 earned) with 23 walks and 45 strikeouts in 62.2 IP.

Brandon Lodge went on the DL back on July 19 and was a 47th round selection of the Angels in the 2011 First Year Player Draft. Prior to going on the DL, he made three relief appearances he has no record and an 11.57 ERA, allowing six runs on nine hits and walking two over 4.2 IP.

RHP Frank De Jiulio will start tonight for the Kernels against Kane County at 5:05 pm. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25, with two players on the disabled list.

The Kernels begin a six game, seven day home stand on Saturday, August 11 at 5:05 pm against the Kane County Cougars, the Midwest League affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. The upcoming home stand continues through Friday, August 17th.
