Brook Ward & Bill Stephenson welcomed into Hall of Fame

Former play-by-play voices become newest members of C's Hall of Fame
August 12, 2012
(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - It was a long time coming for both Bill Stephenson and Brook Ward, but on Saturday evening, the two former play-by-play voices were welcomed into the Vancouver Canadians Broadcast & Journamlism Hall of Fame.

"I feel like the square peg among a bunch of round ones," says Ward who was overwhelmed to be a part of a night that included the likes of Jim Robson, Ron Barnet and Dr. Sport Greg Douglas.

Although humbled, Ward was more than accomplished enough to join the Canadians Hall of Fame having broadcast more games than any other in team history beginning his time behind the microphone in 1987 right through to 2006.

Ward is still active on the local airwaves with CKNW980 in Vancouver.

Stephenson is one of Canada's most decorated brodcasters as he found his way into the CAB Hall of Fame back in 2006.

The rich voice of Stephenson was a part of Vancouver's baseball landscape back in the 1950's during our city's 'heyday' for professional baseball.

The Canadians are proud to welcome the best in the Broadcast and Journalism who spent time covering the game of baseball locally.

To see all of our membership, please visit Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium and enjoy the display in our concourse.
