Isotopes To Honor Eastdale LL World Series Champs

The Albuquerque Isotopes will honor the Eastdale girls softball team, recent winners of the 2012 Little League Softball World Series, with a special on-field ceremony on Saturday, August 18. Gates will open at 6:00 PM for the event with the Isotopes taking on the Zephyrs at 7:05 PM.

Following the 'Topes game, each player from Eastdale's team will be brought onto the field and introduced on the video board. The softball team will then have the opportunity to display their championship banner as they run a victory lap around the outfield wall of Isotopes Park. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the celebratory evening will be capped off with a fireworks extravaganza.

The softball team, comprised of 11 and 12 year old players, went undefeated in the 10-team event held in Portland, Ore, and claimed a 16-1 five-inning victory over Windermere, FLA in the final game for New Mexico's first championship in the series since 1984.
