Raptors End Four-Game Winning Streak, Lose 3-1
Ogden starter Jake Hermsen was great for the Raptors. The lefty pitched six innings, allowing just one run on five hits, striking out six in a no decision.
The Mustangs score off Hermsen in the fourth inning. With one out, David Pigott reached on an infield single to second base. After moving to second on a groundout, Zach Vincej drove him in with an RBI single to right, giving Billings a 1-0 lead.
The Raptors tied the game in the seventh. With one out, Kevin Thompson reached on a similar infield single to second base as Pigott's in the fourth. Bladimir Franco then hit a ground-rule double to left, putting runners on second and third. Malcolm Holland followed with the Raptors lone RBI, bringing home Thompson on a groundout to second, tying the game 1-1.
The Mustangs took the lead in the bottom of the eighth. Beau Amaral started the inning with a single to left. Three batters later, with two outs, Pigott singled to right, putting runners on second and third. Carlos Sanchez then delivered his league-leading 10th triple of the season to center, plating both runners to take the lead.
Mo Wiley earned his eighth save pitching a scoreless ninth, striking out three.
Jeremy Rathjen extended his on-base streak to 35 games by drawing a hit by pitch in the first inning. The streak is the second-longest in Pioneer League history.
