Thunder give children 'Gift of Baseball'

December 22, 2005
TRENTON, N.J. -- The Trenton Thunder, the Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have donated 700 tickets to underprivileged youth through a new "Gift of Baseball" program that was unveiled earlier this month.

The Thunder teamed with the Children's Home Society of New Jersey for this new program that saw one underprivileged family receive tickets to a Thunder game for each season ticket, half season ticket, Mini Ticket Package or Pic-A-Plan purchased between December 1 and December 22. Each of the families who received tickets were part of the Holiday Gift Outreach program run by Children's Home Society.

"Our fans and corporate partners deserve a big 'thank you' for buying season tickets, Mini Tickets Packages and Pic-A-Plans this month. They have helped us give some at-risk Trenton children a fun night at the ballpark with their families this spring," said Thunder General Manager Brad Taylor.

The Children's Home Society of New Jersey provides at-risk children and their families with a range of services that empower them to achieve their potential. They are child-oriented, family focused, community based, and outcome-oriented.

Thunder season tickets, half season tickets, Mini Ticket Packages and Pic-A-Plans are all on sale now by calling 609-394-3300 or online at www.trentonthunder.com.
