Crawdads, Community Get Goofy

March 25, 2008
The Hickory Crawdads invited their fans to celebrate National Goof Off Day on March 22, and the people of Hickory responded.

More than 750 fans of all ages came out to L.P. Frans Stadium to take part in the first-ever celebration of National Goof Off Day at the park.

Children took place in an Easter Egg Hunt, the Crawdads auditioned National Anthem singers and even the grownups got in on the fun with an afternoon Wiffle ball game.

"We were thrilled by the turnout," Hickory general manager Mark Seaman said. "To have more than 750 people was great."

The Crawdads would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to all who participated in National Goof Off Day and hope you all come out for more great Crawdads action throughout the 2008 season.

Hickory hosts the West Virginia Power on Opening Night, April 3.
