Leslie Anderson Named A Postseason All-Star

August 28, 2012
DURHAM, NC - The International League today announced Leslie Anderson has been named to the Postseason All-Star team. This is the second All-Star selection for Anderson this season, as he was named to the IL's mid-season squad.

Anderson, a former Cuban national team player, is currently leading the league in batting with a .313 average (132-for-422). In his third season with the Bulls, he has set career-highs in hits, doubles, and runs scored. Anderson has been Durham's most consistent offensive presence all season, leading the Bulls in most offensive categories including home runs (14) and RBI (55).

He was rewarded earlier this season for his outstanding play by being named to the league's mid-season All-Star team. Anderson started in right field for the IL squad at the Triple-A All-Star Game in Buffalo, NY and went 2-for-3. He was the only International League player to record a multi-hit game.

Anderson is in his third season with the Tampa Bay Rays organization, signing in March of 2010 after defecting from Cuba. Since joining the Bulls at the end of the 2010 season he has been a mainstay at the DBAP, compiling a .298 batting average with 50 doubles, 29 HR and 133 RBI in 261 games with Durham. The first baseman/outfielder is the sixth Bulls outfielder to be named to the Postseason All-Star team and the first since Jon Weber was selected in 2009.

The Durham Bulls return to the DBAP on Friday, August 31 for the final two regular season home games of 2012. Tickets for all Bulls regular season home games and the 2012 Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game are available online at durhambulls.com, by phone at 919.956.BULL, or in person at the DBAP ticket office.
