Gracias a nuestra afición por Vivir el Rey
El 8 de marzo, en medio de una gran fiesta beisbolera, se llevó a cabo la presentación de la Temporada 2012 de la Liga Mexicana de Beisbol en el Monumento a la Revolución, la cual fue transmitida en vivo, a nivel nacional, por TVC Deportes.
En el mismo marco se lanzó la campaña Ve Bien, Ve al Beis y el tema musical Vive El Rey, que le dio ritmo y sabor a la temporada en sus 16 plazas.
Más de tres mil personas respondieron a la convocatoria de la LMB y disfrutaron, además del concierto de Merenglass, de la convivencia con 16 peloteros (de los más representativos de cada novena) quienes firmaron autógrafos a lo largo de la velada.
Los jugadores arribaron a la plancha del emblemático edificio en un Turibús, junto con algunas de las mascotas del circuito en un ambiente colorido y familiar.
En el acto se contó con la presencia del Jefe de Gobierno del DF, Lic. Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, quien destacó la importancia de la cultura deportiva entre los capitalinos.
También estuvieron presentes el Lic. Francisco Javier López, director del IDDF, del Lic. Ángel Losada, presidente del Consejo de Ver Bien para Aprender Mejor, del Ing. Francisco Bojórquez, director del STC Metro, y del C.P. Plinio Escalante, presidente de la LMB.
El primer playball se cantó el 16 de marzo en Cancún; al día siguiente, la actividad se puso en marcha en Oaxaca, Laguna, Monclova, Reynosa, Minatitlán, Tabasco y Campeche, donde los parques lucieron llenos.
Las tribunas nuevamente se nutrieron de manera espectacular, el 18 de marzo, durante el encendido de los diamantes en el D.F., Puebla, Aguascalientes, Saltillo, Monterrey, Veracruz, Ciudad del Carmen y Yucatán.
Por primera vez en la historia, la LMB contó con una campaña publicitaria en el medio de transporte más concurrido del país, el STC Metro. Con dos fases programadas, la LMB impactó a cerca de 10 millones de potenciales aficionados.
La LMB, en conjunto con Ver Bien Para Aprender Mejor, puso en marcha la campaña Ve Bien, Ve al Beis, con la cual se benefició a miles de niños en el país, quienes padecen problemas de agudeza visual.
Mediante el apoyo invaluable de la gran afición al beisbol, Ve Bien, Ve al Beis, logró que estudiantes de primaria y secundaria, de escasos recursos, accedieran a lentes graduados para mejorar su calidad de vida y continuaran con su preparación académica.
En mayo, Monterrey se vistió de gala con la fiesta de media temporada. El Juego de Estrellas, en honor del legendario Ramón Arano, resultó un éxito en la Sultana del Norte, con el triunfo de la Zona Sur 8-5.
Por su parte, con cinco cuadrangulares en la última ronda, el panameño Rubén Rivera, cañonero de Piratas de Campeche, conquistó el Home Run Derby "Héctor Espino", celebrado en el Palacio Sultán.
En el marco de la Fiesta de las Estrellas en Monterrey, Nuevo León, la Liga Mexicana de Beisbol premió a lo Mejor del 2011 en una cena de gala celebrada en el Capitolio de la Sultana del Norte.
El Ing. Carlos Peralta Quintero, presidente del Consejo de Administración de los campeones Tigres de Quintana Roo, recibió el trofeo a Ejecutivo del Año "Alejo Peralta y Díaz Ceballos".
En junio, el titular la Secretaría de Salud, Salomón Chertorivski, y el presidente de la LMB, C.P. Plinio Escalante, dieron a conocer la campaña Poncha a la Obesidad, la cual se llevó activo del 6 al 26 de julio, la cual consistió en llevar módulos de prevención a los 16 parques de la LMB, bajo el distintivo del moño naranja.
La rúbrica de la campaña 2012 fue la Serie del Rey inédita entre Rieleros de Aguascalientes y Rojos del Águila de Veracruz. Los veracruzanos conquistaron el título en siete desafíos en una de las series más emocionantes, espectaculares y memorables en la historia de la LMB. Por todo ello, !Vive el Rey!
