Gostkowski to kickoff Pats night in Lowell

Patriots kicker returns to LeLacheur Park, kick to fans June 22
March 31, 2008
LOWELL, MA -- The Lowell Spinners, Class A affiliate of the World Champion Boston Red Sox, are proud to welcome back the star of last summer's promotional schedule, Stephen Gostkowski, when he returns to LeLacheur Park this summer with an added twist.

Gostkowski is re-joining the Spinners on Sunday, June 22 for New England Patriots Night, presented by Electrical Wholesalers. After converting all 74 of his extra-point attempts in 2007 to set an NFL record, Gostkowski will again allow fans to play the role of Kevin Faulk or Wes Welker by catching autographed footballs from the stands.

In addition, four lucky fans will have the opportunity to act as a holder as Gostkowski kicks from the outfield, directly into fans' arms in the stands.

"It is the thrill of a life-time for a fan to leave LeLacheur Park with a foul ball," said Lowell Spinners Vice President/General Manager Tim Bawmann. "It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to leave with an autographed football, delivered into your arms from the leg of an NFL star."

Gostkowski, a former pitcher at the University of Memphis, will kick the autographed footballs into the stands from the outfield during between-innings breaks when the Spinners take on the Vermont Lake Monsters for a 5:05 pm start.

"Speaking from experience, there is no greater thrill for a fan than holding for an NFL kicker in front of a packed house at LeLacheur," added Bawmann, who held for Gostkowski last season.

Limited tickets to this game are available and fans are encouraged to visit the Lowell Spinners Box Office at LeLacheur Park, call 978-459-1702, or visit www.lowellspinners.com for the latest ticket availability for the entire season.
