Miguel Sano Hits His 100th RBI of the Season
Beloit, WI- A big four-run bottom of the
sixth sealed
the deal for the Beloit Snappers, who outhit the Quad Cities River
Bandits 10-7
Monday afternoon at Pohlman field to finish off the regular season with
a win!
Beloit had a four-run bottom of the sixth inning. Miguel
Sano ripped his league-leading 28th home run of the season,
giving
the Snappers a 3-1 lead. That run marked his league-leading 100th
RBI of the season.
Johnson was relieved by Taylor Rogers in the top of the
seventh after pitching one scoreless inning.
Zack Jones came in for the top of the ninth and closed the
game for the Snappers allowing just one hit. The Snappers finished off
the
regular season with a 6-1 win over the River Bandits.
The win improved the Snappers second-half record to 38-22
and copped off a 77-63 campaign. The 77 wins were good enough for the
second
most in the Western Division. The Snappers finished the regular season
almost
as good on the road as they were at Pohlman Field. They compiled a
39-31 home
record and 38-32 record on the road. Miguel Sano finished off the
regular
season as a Midwest League Leader in home runs (29), RBI (100), and
total bases
(238). Jason Wheeler had the league-leading record in wins with 14, and
Corey
Williams finished fourth in the league in saves, with 17.
The Snappers will now hit the road for the Midwest League
playoffs! Game one will be played in Clinton, Iowa vs. the Clinton
LumberKings
(Seattle Mariners Class-A Affiliate). The Snappers return home to play
game two
on Thursday, September 6th at 6:30 PM. Tickets are still
