AJ Ramos Strikes Out Side in Marlins Debut
On a night where former Jacksonville outfielder Giancarlo (Mike) Stanton hit his 30th homer of the season another Jacksonville player was making his major league debut.
Spending all of the 2012 season in Jacksonville, Ramos impressed the Southern League with his strikeouts, saves and overall greatness.
Down 8-4 in the 9th inning, the Marlins decided it was time for AJ Ramos to make his debut. Ramos would come in a strike out all three former MLB All-Stars's Rickie Weeks, Ryan Braun and Aramis Ramirez in a debut he will never forget.
"The presence on the mound and the confidence was huge," said Marlins Manager Ozzie Guillen. "He has a good fastball and his sliders have bite, but he throws strikes and that will give you a chance to make a lot of money in this game."
AJ Ramos has arrived in Miami and it appears he is there to stay.
