Rainiers get ready to rip
TACOMA - Like any Class AAA team, the Tacoma Rainiers' roster is full of players who would rather be somewhere else.
Jeff Clement, Wladimir Balentien, R.A. Dickey, and several other Rainiers players have seen major league playing time and have their sights set on Safeco Field. In the meantime though, there are strengths to display and weaknesses to improve upon, and Tacoma is the place to do it.
"I understand what the situation is, so I've got complete faith in the people making those decisions," said Clement, whose path to Seattle appears to be blocked by Mariners starting catcher Kenji Johjima. "I know that if I want to continue to catch and get a lot of innings in, then this is where I need to be." To read the rest of this Olympian story click here.
