Zephyrs Post Big Opening Series Attendance Number

More attend opening series than any four-game series in 2007.

The New Orleans Zephyrs announced a total attendance of 34,059 for their opening four-game series against the Nashville Sounds, which is more than attended any four-game series in 2007.

Included in that figure was an opening day crowd of 10,144. The Zephyrs went 3-1 in the series, winning the first three games of the season for the first time since 1999. The team also featured a number of big promotions, including fireworks shows on Thursday and Friday and giveaways of Zephyrs duffle bags, magnet schedules and kids baseball gloves.

The Zephyrs will start their second four-game series of their season-opening eight-game homestand tonight against the Memphis Redbirds. The Zephyrs will start RHP Brian Stokes against Memphis RHP Mitchell Boggs.
