Sinclair to be new 'Voice of the Quakes'
"On a scale of one to 10, I'd say this is about a 24," Sinclair said with regard to his excitement level about joining the Quakes. "I actually applied for this job two years ago before I went to Kinston, and I'm thrilled to finally make it out to California."
The 26-year-old Sinclair spent the last two seasons as director of broadcasting for the Kinston Indians of the Class A Advanced Carolina League, where Quakes general manager North Johnson is currently president of that organization. Sinclair called the action when the K-Tribe won the 2004 Carolina League Championship.
Prior to his time in North Carolina, Sinclair spent 2003 with the Helena Brewers and 2002 with the Idaho Falls Padres of the Rookie Pioneer League. He graduated from Baylor University in 2001 with a degree in journalism and telecommunications.
"Everyone in our front office is excited to welcome Rob into the fold," Quakes GM Johnson said. "I'm confident that he'll be a great fit for our staff, both on and off the air."
Sinclair joins five other new staff members for the upcoming season: Tom Beatty and Adam Hensleigh will work as group sales representatives, Kim Usselman-Fogel has been named director of ticket operations, her husband Ken Fogel is the new director of baseball operations, and Kelly Bartlett has been as hired as a corporate sales representative.
The Quakes open the 2006 season at home on Friday, April 7 against the Bakersfield Blaze. For more information, please call the Quakes at (909) 481-5000.
