Sowers Back with Bisons after Spot Start with Tribe

The Cleveland Indians today announced that they have recalled Bisons INF Michael Aubrey for his Major League debut. To make roster room, the Tribe optioned LHP Jeremy Sowers to Buffalo.

Sowers was promoted on Friday to make a spot start for the Indians last night in Cincinnati. The southpaw allowed three runs in five innings of a no-decision (4H, 2BB, 2K). He also drew a walk in his lone plate appearance.

Sowers is 2-2 with a 2.21ERA in seven starts with the Herd this season (40.2IP, 34H, 11R, 10ER, 14BB, 26K). He leads the Bisons in innings pitched, quality starts (4) and ERA. His 2.21ERA is also the fourth lowest mark in the International League.

Aubrey played in 11 games with the Bisons after being promoted from Double-A Akron on May 1. The first baseman hit .341 (15-44) with four doubles and five RBI in his Triple-A debut. He hit safely in nine of the 11 games with Buffalo.
