2006 World Series MVP to make rehab start
Eckstein, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list May 8 with a strained right hip flexor, is expected to return to the Major League roster on Thursday, when the Jays host the Angels. Prior to landing on the DL, Eckstein was batting .246 with 12 RBIs.
Entering his 11th year, the Toronto Blue Jays acquired the 2006 WS MVP on a one year deal worth $4.5 million. In 2007, he batted .309 for the Cardinals, contributing three home runs, 31 RBIs and 10 stolen bases. He was also a member of the 2002 World Champion Anaheim Angels team.
