105.5 WERC Returns As Barons Radio Flagship in 2013

Games will be available on 105.5 WERC-FM, 960 WERC-AM, online at WERCFM.com and via the "iHeartRadio" Smartphone Application

For the second year in a row, Birmingham baseball fans will enjoy unprecedented access to the Barons as the team announced today that all 140 regular season and any post-season games during the 2013 season will be heard exclusively on News Radio 105.5 WERC-FM. The games will also be simulcast live on 960 WERC-AM and on the WERC website at www.wercfm.com.

Barons' fans will also be able to listen on the go using their Smartphone to access the "iHeartRadio" application. The application is free to download and allows listeners to tune in to their favorite radio stations from all over the country.

"We're excited to continue our partnership with News Radio 105.5 WERC and thrilled to be a part of the Clear Channel family," said Barons General Manager Jonathan Nelson. "We believe this partnership with WERC and Clear Channel allows Barons fans, sponsors and supporters a quality way to follow every Barons game on the radio, the Internet and through the iHeartRadio Smartphone application."

Each broadcast will begin with a ten-minute pre-game show and will feature Curt Bloom who returns for his 22nd season behind the microphone as the radio broadcaster for the Barons.

The 2013 Birmingham Barons season begins Thursday, April 4th against the Montgomery Biscuits, Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. The Barons will play their home opener at Regions Field on Wednesday, April 10th when they take on the Mississippi Braves, Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.
