Winter Ball Wrap-Up

The Arizona Fall League comes to a head on Saturday as the Salt River Rafters, featuring several of your Fisher Cats, play Peoria in the league's championship game. Meanwhile, the Caribbean and Australian leagues are in full swing to give you some holiday baseball cheer heading into Thanksgiving.

Salt River clinched its playoff spot on Wednesday night before winning the season finale on Thursday. Deck McGuire pitched a scoreless inning in the Rafters' 17^th win of the AFL Season.

Here's how the rest of the Fisher Cats - both past and future - are faring this fall.

Arizona Fall League
Salt River Rafters

P Sam Dyson - Reached his innings limit at the end of October
SS Ryan Goins - Played in just 13 total games, but drove in three runs in final three contests, including two in the division clincher on Wednesday night.
P Ian Kadish - One of the youngest - based on experience - pitchers on the team. Strong start and finish wrapped around a learning curve in the middle of his ten games.
OF Jake Marisnick - Strong finish left his average at .314. Hasn't played since he was rumored to be in the blockbuster Blue Jays trade on Tuesday.
P Deck McGuire - Pitched 11 times overall, but was very strong as a reliever with a 1.46 ERA in ten appearances.
C Sean Ochinko - Batted .277 with a home run and seven RBI.
OF Kevin Pillar - Led Salt River with a .371 average, stealing 8 bases in 15 games. Could see time in New Hampshire in 2013.
P Ryan Tepera - Overall, a successful fall despite allowing six runs in final outing.

Australian Baseball League
Canberra Cavalry

1B K.C. Hobson - Has hit 2 of the team's three home runs in the first four games.
OF Jonathan Jones - Has the only home run not hit by K.C. Hobson.
OF Marcus Knecht - Has one hit, 1 RBI in four games.
C Jack Murphy - Slow start with one hit in his first three games.

Dominican Winter League
Escogido

Joel Carreno - Is a perfect 3-for-3 in save opportunities with 10 strikeouts.

Gigantes

P Fabio Castro - 0-1, 3.00 in five games, four of them starts.
C Robinzon Diaz - Eighth in the DWL in hitting with a .323 average.
OF Moises Sierra - Ranked 11^th in hitting with a .289 average; has hit 3 home runs.

Toros

C Yan Gomes - Began play for Brazil this week in World Baseball Classic Qualifying, went 2-4 in the first game; Hitting .186 for Toros
INF Manny Mayorson - 2-7 in his first six games.

P Danny Farquhar - Pitching very well with 1 win, 3 saves, and a 1.32 ERA
P Chris Jakubauskas - Has made three starts in his four outings with a 4.26 ERA
P Bobby Korecky - Two wins in his first eight games
