CORBIN BLEU TO HEADLINE JULY 28 MODERN WOODMEN PARK DOUBLE-BILL CONCERT
"We see Modern Woodmen Park as more than just a baseball park; it's an ideal place to hold large gatherings and mid-sized outdoor concerts," said team owner Dave Heller. Heller added that this was just the first of what he expects will be many concerts hosted at Modern Woodmen Park over the coming years. "Hosting concerts like this one will only help increase Modern Woodmen Park's profile as an ideal venue for musical tours, festivals, and other performing acts," Heller said. "And the Disney people share our commitment to fun, affordable family-friendly entertainment."
The concert will take place on July 28 at 7:00 p.m. and tickets will be just $44.50 and $25.00 each. Tickets will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7. Fans can book their seat for the concert by calling (563) 3-BANDITS, going online to www.riverbandits.com, or visiting the Modern Woodmen Park box office at 209 S. Gaines St. in Davenport. Priority seating will be offered to River Bandits season ticket holders, mini-plan purchasers, and suite holders.
"Corbin Bleu and Mitchel Musso are extremely popular young performers with a lot of talent and bright futures ahead of them," said Vice President/General Manager Kirk Goodman. "We're excited to have them perform at our ballpark and look forward to reaching out to younger audiences. Corbin Bleu began his career as a toddler - starring in commercials, modeling, and appearing in an off-Broadway play. After performing a song for the Discovery Kids television film Flight 29 Down during his freshman year of high school, the Brooklyn native was signed to Hollywood Records. That same year Bleu was cast as Chad in Disney's High School Musical, and is featured singing on the movie's soundtrack. His next film, Jump In, was The Disney Channel's highest rated original movie, with 8.2 million viewers. However, that record was broken shortly after by High School Musical 2, the follow-up to the original hit.
Corbin's solo album, Another Side, debuted in 2007. A mixture of R&B and pop, the album features five songs that were written by Bleu himself. Hit singles such as "Deal With It" and "Push it to the Limit" are highlighted on the Jump In soundtrack and rose to No. 1 on Radio Disney.
Also performing at the ballpark is Mitchel Musso. Most people are quick to associate Mitchell with his starring role as Miley Cyrus' best friend and sidekick on the hit Disney show "Hannah Montana." Besides his stardom on television, Mitchell was the opening act for the entire sold-out Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus "Best of Both Worlds" Tour. Mitchell's current single, "If I Didn't Have You" with Emily Osment, also from the hit series "Hannah Montana," has reached No. 7 on Radio Disney.
