D-Backs stay college-heavy in 2008 MLB Draft
In the 50 rounds of picks, including a supplemental pick after the 1st round, the Diamondbacks selected just 12 high-school players and 39 who have played at the junior college level or above. The D-Backs also stayed with selecting pitchers, with 27 of their 51 picks used to get more arms into their minor-league system.

Players who opt to sign immediately will take part in a mini-camp at Tucson this week before being assigned. The players who will be coming to Missoula will arrive sometime next week.
